General
Frequencies available to order: L Band  1.15 - 1.4 GHz, S Band 2.2 - 2.6 GHz, C Band 5.7 - 5.8 GHz.
Other frequencies & power outputs – please contact us with your requirements.

Latency: All digital video transmitters using video compression will experience some delay. The LL4’s delay is only around 100-150mS, depending on the chosen compression method.

Range: It is not possible to quote meaningful range data without conducting tests or a site survey, but as a guide, the 100mW 1.4GHz LL4 system is capable of transmitting up to approx. 1-2Km using the standard omni antennas with line of sight. The 1W transmitter could achieve up to 5Km LOS. Range can be extended considerably with the use of directional antennas.

Description

COFDM digital video transmission is the only viable method of sending high quality video & audio from a moving vehicle or roaming camera without interference or drop-outs. It does not require line-of-site from the transmitter to the receiver which makes it ideal for use in built up areas, campuses or where the receive antennas will be near or at ground level.

Each Drivedata LL4 system includes a transmitter, matching diversity receiver (usually multi-channel) and omni antennas. Transmitters are available with 100mW or 1W transmit power and there are various frequency options including license-free for most countries.

A datasheet is available for download in the support/downloads tab.

A video clip recorded at Brands Hatch can be seen in the videos tab. This was recorded from the output of the LL4 receiver, which was positioned at head height just outside the pit garage. The low power (100mW) transmitter was used on the car with the standard omni-directional antenna.

Please contact us for more detailed technical information and lead time as we build these systems to order.

Systems are available for hire, with or without technical assistance, on a daily basis. This is usually the most cost-effective way to utilise this technology if you need it for just a few events each year. Please contact us for rates.
