Description
The SD20 may look familiar to action camera fans, but this is a brand new product which includes many functions and features either not included or not available with other action cameras costing more.
The SD20 is a full HD (1080p) camera with detachable screen included in the price. The screen allows for monitoring of the scene being recorded and gives you the ability to playback recorded footage immediately. It also simplifies the task of configuration and operation. If you don't want to attach the screen, the camera's integrated laser pointer allows you to adjust the camera so it's pointing in the right direction.
Another feature often required in action cameras which will be mounted on a helmet, surf board, hang glider wing or any other difficult to reach place, is a remote control. Now you can have it! The wireless (not infra-red) remote control included in the standard package will turn the camera on and off and start/stop recording or photo capture.
A multi-element, high quality glass lens and 1080p full HD resolution gives excellent picture quality. The wide-angle lens gives a field of view of 128° in 1080p mode and 170° in 720p mode. Distortion is kept to a minimum, but you can still capture all the action.
The waterproof housing supplied is good to a depth of 30m and the optically flat lens window means that underwater scenes will not be affected by the distortion introduced by the domes lens covers some action cameras use. The case provided holds the camera only (without screen attached). An optional case is available for the camera with screen attached.
Other competitively-priced optional mounts and accessories are available. Whatever sport or activity you want to capture, you can do it with the SD20 without having to spend a fortune on optional extras.

FAQ
How can I edit my video files?
The easiest way to edit files recorded on the Extreme Cam is using Apple's Quicktime Pro player. This is available for PC and MAC and can be downloaded from Apple's website.
How do I playback my recordings?
Either playback on the detachable screen, use the HDMI or TV-out socket to play through an external TV/monitor or remove the SD card (or connect to the USB port) and play from a hardware media player or computer using players such as Quicktime, VLC or Media Player Classic.
How much recording time will I get with the internal storage?
You will need a Micro SD card to record video or still photos. You can use any size card up to 32GB. Recording times are covered in the 'specifications' section. Please ensure you only use cards supplied by Drivedata or cards compatible with the SD20 (Transcend & Kingston are usually the most compatible)
What is the largest memory card supported?
Currently, the largest available Micro SD card is 32GB and this is supported.
What is the maximum record time?
The record time is only limited by the battery capacity. A fully charged battery can record for up to 2 hours. With a 16 or 32GB memory card, you could record for longer than this by using the special external power supplies we sell or buying more spare batteries and swapping them.
What is the video/file format?
The video format is H.264 stored as an .MOV file.
When I try and play the video back on my PC, it freezes and/or stutters
Because this is High Definition video, you will need a relatively fast computer in order to play back 1080P video smoothly. Try closing any other applications you may have open to see if it helps. Always copy the files from the Micro SD card to your hard disk before playback as this will also help.
