Description

The HyVid ONE is a breakthrough in High Definition personal video recorders. Nothing else matches this specification for the price.

The ONE offers full 1080P HD resolution, detachable camera head, 2-inch colour LCD screen for monitoring/playback, a high quality Canon lens, high resolution CMOS sensor and other features only found on systems costing 10 times the price!

If you've been waiting for an affordable, broadcast-quality sports video system capable of delivering 16:9 widescreen High Definition pictures, then wait no longer. The HyVid ONE has a detachable camera head fitted with a fixed wide-angle lens (120 degrees FOV) and separate recording unit which can power the camera and record for up to 6 hours on one charge/memory card.

The camera and recorder unit are designed to be splash-proof (not fully waterproof or submersible) so it can be used outdoors in most conditions. A built-in, high quality 2" LCD screen allows you to monitor and playback your videos without the need for a computer. You can also watch on a full size  HD TV by using the HDMI output, or transfer the video files to your computer via the USB port. Most standard software media players, such as VLC or Media Player Classic will play the clips with no special downloads or codecs required.

Check out the 'videos' tab on this page for sample videos which demonstrate the stunning quality of this new video system.

FAQ

How can I edit my video files?

We recommend using Quicktime Player with the Pro upgrade (about £20 from Apple) to make simple edits. If you want more sophisticated editing tools and transitions etc. you will need to look for editing software which supports H.264 video. For professional editing applications it will often be necessary to convert the H.264 footage to another format first before bringing it onto the timeline. Drivedata can advise on the best way to do this if you contact us.

How do I playback my recordings?

There are several ways: 1. Use the built-in player to view recordings on the 2" LCD screen 2. Remove the SD card (or connect to the USB port) and play from a hardware media player or computer using players such as Quicktime, VLC or Media Player Classic 3. Connect the supplied HDMI cable to the mini HDMI port and playback through a large digital TV/monitor

How much recording time will I get with the internal storage?

The internal storage is only 32MB so you'll only get a few seconds of 1080P video or about 50 still photos before it's full. You will need a SD or SDHC card to get a useful amount of storage. These are available in 2,4,8,16 or 32GB in size.

What is the largest memory card supported?

Currently, the largest available SDHC card is 32GB and this is supported.

What is the maximum record time?

The record time is only limited by the battery capacity. A fully charged battery can record for up to 6 hours (with the LCD screen off) and playback for up to 10 hours. With a 32GB memory card, you could record for longer than 6 hours in 1080P mode by using the external power adapter.

What is the video/file format?

The video format is H.264 MP4 stored as a .MOV file.

When I try and play the video back on my PC, it freezes and/or stutters

Because this is High Definition video, you will need a relatively fast computer in order to play back 1080P video smoothly. Try closing any other applications you may have open to see if it helps. Always copy the files from the SD card to your hard disk before playback as this will also help.
