Drivedata Blazes Trail in Canada

Mountain Biking UK, having heard about Drivedata’s reputation as the UK’s leading independent designer and manufacturer of professional video and data recording systems for the motorsport industry, was keen to put Drivedata products to the test – over 10 days in July in real riding conditions and on some of the best and most challenging mountain biking trails in the world!!
Whistler arguably has the best riding park in the world, holds some of the best trail riding on earth and has every style of mountain biking in one place, so where better to test out Drivedata’s reputation for robust and reliable products.
Andrew Dodd, MBUK’s product tester, was using a DR2 single channel solid state recorder with a 520-line bullet camera and this came with everything else he needed – charger, extension leads, LANC remote control, waterproof / bashproof case for the recorder, 2GB flashcard, card reader and all the mountings for the helmet and bike.
In his review Doddy stated “The 2GB flashcard gives about 30 minutes of footage and the system we used gave excellent results. We were especially impressed with the way the camera deals with dappled light – the adjustments it makes when going from light to dark are very quick, and the colours are vibrant, making it the best helmet cam set-up we’ve ever used. We gave Drivedata a ‘Most Wanted’ rating meaning it’s a truly outstanding product, regardless of the price tag.”
John Chambers, Drivedata’s Managing Director added,
“Having built up an excellent reputation in the motorsport industry we are keen to take our products to new markets, and mountain biking is a key development area for us. To have our products successfully tested in a different, yet highly demanding and challenging environment such as Whistler proves the reliability and robustness of our systems.”
